Agriculture Insurance Company (AIC) was launched in 2002 with net capital of Rs. 1500 crores having head office in New Delhi. It’s paid up capital of Rs. 200 crores which support by the promoting companies NABARD with 30%, GIC with 35% and 4 other public sector company each of 8%. It offers numerous allied insurance, yield-based and weather-based crop insurance and agriculture products and schemes. It support and offers its products to 20 million farmers and formed as a biggest crop insurer in the world.
