Cipla Limited

Cipla Limited is an Indian pharmaceutical company well known for manufacturing low-cost anti-AIDS drugs for HIV-positive patients. Indian scientist Khwaja Abdul Hamied set up the company in 1935. The company makes drugs to treat diabetes, weight control, depression, cardiovascular, disease, arthritis and many more. Its products are distributed across the country.

Cipla also has product range such as anti-asthmatics, anti-bacterial, antibiotics, oncology, corticosteroids, nutritional supplements and cardiovascular drugs. In 2000, Cipla became the first company to launch CFC-free inhalers outside the USA and Europe.
