Indira Gandhi International Airport is located in west Delhi and about 16 km from New Delhi city centre. It is an international airport of national capital region Delhi, India. It was named after former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi. It is largest and one of a important aviation hub in India and in South Asia also. Due to large traffic passenger at Safdarjung, civil operation moved at Palam Airport in 1962 and earlier it is known by Indira Gandhi International Airport.

In 2011-12, airport covered about 29 million passenger annually. In 2010, IGIA has received the fourth best airport award in the world and gain ranked 2nd in the world in 25-40 million passengers category by Airport Council International.
