MTS

MTS Russia, the largest telecom group of Russia with over 102.4 million subscribers, collaborated with the Shyam Group of India to form a joint venture company in 2008 to form Sistema Teleservices (SSTL). They provide CDMA services across India, for which it has acquired a pan India license. Later, in March 2009, SSTL launched the MTS brand in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, which later spread on to other neighboring Indian states as well. At present MTS operates in 12 of India's telecom circles out of a total of 22 with a subscriber base of over 13 million.

The sole motive of MTS is to provide mobile telephony services across India.
