Nikon

I use this camera for everything: art photography, portraits, landscapes, HDR, and point-and-shoot family shots. Its really done everything I’ve asked of it without fuss and with good quality. I like that I can dive into the manual settings and get exactly the shot I want, then turn the mode dial to "AUTO" and hand the camera to my wife or kids and know that they’ll get reasonably good photos. The image quality is simply outstanding. The menu system is logical and easy to use; if you know about photography you can bend the camera to your will easily.

I had been using the D200 for several years. The D200 is a great camera but it's high ISO performance is poor. As my kids get older and begin playing sports in dark gyms or under the lights, I found the D200 to be unacceptable. The D7000, which has substantially superior high ISO performance, allows me to get shots unattainable with the D200. I shoot with both the Nikon D7000 and the Canon 5d Mark II and I actually like the shots I get with my Nikon. Yes, the Canon enables me to crop a little more but if you compose correctly, there shouldn't be that much need to crop.

Nikon D5100- great camera so far, still learning. online purchase
I am still learning all of the features as I had been shooting with a D60 for the last few years. Easy to use right out of the box, but worth spending some time to learn all it can do. I love the screen that flips out/ rotates.Can't say much more until I continue using for awhile longer.

Nikon D7000- Well worth the money. I have had the camera less than a week, but have shot a wedding event with it. The controls are simple and intuitive and the frame rate is adequate. Autofocus is fast and sure, I did not miss the extra AF points of my D300s. There is little difference in image quality from the D300s in good light, but when the light goes down and the ISO goes up it is a hands down winner. Images were a little soft right out of the box, that takes about 30 seconds to fix if you know how to use a camera.

Hey Guys, I recently purchased the fabulous Nikon D5100 Kit. Here is my first impression. If you stay in Nikon's line-up, only a heavier/more expensive FX D700 can produce better IQ (and I would say perhaps, depending on conditions, because the resolution of the D5100 with 16+MP is really phenomenal).
