The new Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire can be regarded as an efficient effort on the part of Maruti in producing cost efficient Sedan class car by reducing its length. The selling price of the new Dzire is lesser than the older one by few thousands but the price stands true to its make as the manufacturers have introduced 150 brand new features in the latest version of the Dzire. The all new Swift Dzire is popularly known as Swift 3.99 as its length has been limited to less than 4 metres. This step has been taken on behalf of Maruti so that the Maruti SX4 and the new Dzire series are placed apart from each other. Another reason why Maruti chose to keep the length of the car less than 4 metres is that the Indian government charges 10% excise duty for cars that are less than 4 metres in length on the contrary, larger cars have to pay an excise duty of 22%.
The new Dzire is embedded with an engine that has been present in the former Swift versions. The car comes in 4 petrol and 3 diesel versions. On the whole Maruti has launched seven models that comprise Swift Dzire LXi, Swift Dzire VXi, Swift Dzire VXi AT, Swift Dzire ZXi, Swift Dzire LDi, Swift Dzire VDi and Swift Dzire ZDi. The new Dzire uses the engine belonging to the k series which is marked with 1.2 litre capacity marked by 1197 cc. The petrol engine has a fully manual transmission of 5-speed while the VXi AT range has a 4-speed automatic transmission. The petrol engines have been designed to keeping in mind the BS IV emission norms. The diesel category cannot be left behind as it has a Double Over Head Camshaft (DOHC) engine to support it. The diesel engine utilizes the CDRI fuel injection technique to produce power. This new age diesel engine is efficient enough to produce a maximum power of 74 bhp at the rate of 4000 rpm.
The model of the latest Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire 2012 has been designed keeping in mind the Indian tastes and preferences as this car is to be sold in Indian markets only. A big challenge for the Maruti company engineers was to fit the boot space in the less than 4 metre regime and they successfully pulled it off. With new advancements being made to the interiors of the latest model, the car now has roomier interiors and utility oriented boot space.
The new Dzire is marked with certain changes that were not formerly present in the sedan or swift hatchback versions. It comes in with bigger headlamps and elegant looking tail lamps. The rear door is larger along with a brand new style of bumper that has an inclusion for fog lights. The car claims to provide spacious interiors to the Indian customers marked with light coloured upholstery and adjustable headrests and armrests at the rear seat. In short the car stands as a perfect fit for the genre of customers and is efficient enough to handle the Indian roads at economic value.
